Click on a photo for much a higher quality version. About PenzancePenzance is a great base from which to explore the surrounding places of Newlyn, Mousehole and Marizion. Penzance is a town steeped in history and dates back to over one thousand years. Penzance is located to the western side of mounts bay, which runs from the Lizard (the most southerly point of main land Britain) to Lands End.Penzance is a great starting point for trips to the Isles of Scilly, which can be reached by the air or by sea. Penzance is at the end of the train line which runs from London Paddington with regular services. Penzance is also easily accessible by coach and car, and has enough car parks to meet the summer demand. The mounts bay area also has some great places to fish either from the shore or by boat. Organised trips are numerous and generally inexpensive thought it is best to shop around. Things To See And Do In PenzanceNewlyn with it's famous fish market is within walking distance of Penzance.The very picturesque Marizion is only a short distance away and has the wonderful St Michael's Mount which can be walked across to at low tide. The area has many places to visit close by including Porthleven, Mousehole, Praa Sands and Helston to name but a few. |
