More Photos Of Dolcoath Mine
Dolcoath the deepest mine in Cornwall began life as a copper mine and then as the working s became deeper rich tin deposits were discovered. Compared to many Cornish mines Dolcoath had a fairly good safety record but a young lady travelling on the 'man engine' lost part of her dress and on a more serious note the worst accident happened in 1893 when timers supporting the roof gave way and killed seven miners. The eigth miner was rescued after 37 hours. Photograph By: Views Of Cornwall Team
