Cornish business took advantage of the large crowds to try and sell their wares with colourful stalls set up in the marquee in front the Nation Maritime Museum
The oyster plays a unique role in Falmouth’s heritage and economy and the Falmouth Oyster Festival celebrates the start of the oyster harvesting season in October. Falmouth has one of the only remaining oyster fisheries that still dredge under sail and oar.
During the festival there is oyster tasting, cookery demonstrations, live music, local produce and craft fairs and an exciting Working Boat Race
